Water rating
Soil: All Types, preferring a well drained loam.
Flowers: Spring to mid Summer.

Tolerances: Frost & cold

Cultivation Notes:
This beautiful family of plants with their bell shaped flowers and lush foliage grace many sun dappled corners of our gardens.  With a range of heights and colours available they can provide a splash of oclour to the woodland or cottage garden during spring and summer.

Aspect & Hardiness: Campanulas do well in a morning sun position, especially in hot climates, and grow well in woodland situations.  Herbaceous varieties are fully frost hardy.
Soil: Prefer a well drained, moist soil that is rich in organic matter to maintain moisture dyring hot spells.  Adding a handful of dolomite per square metre in autumn will help them over winter.
Propagation: We propagate our campanulas through division to get true to type plants.  We have marked where we grow from seed and if there maybe any expected variation.
Watering: Campanulas prefer not to dry out.  Watering during extended periods is essential..
Feeding: Moderate feeding is recommended in early spring with an organic slow release fertiliser.
Pruning: Remove old flower stalks regularly to promote new flushes.  Tidy as required.
Pest & Disease free. The low growing ground cover varieties make an excellent weed suppressor.  Snails and slugs can be occassional visitors.
Planting Companions: Aquilegia, Astrantia, Tricrytis, Heucheras, Tiarellas, Geraniums, Hostas, Thalictrum.
